This not for profit organisation has been the peak industry body representing vegetable growers in Western Australia for more than 70 years. Their purpose is to assist vegetable growers, industry and government to maintain a profitable and sustainable vegetable industry.
This organisation had an aging on premise server that needed to be replaced with a solution that would provide flexibility and scalability.
With an end of life Microsoft Small Business Server on their hands, this not for profit organisation was seeking a simple cloud server that would eliminate the need to have an on-premise system. The cloud server or system would also need to run their email services which was currently housed on the SBS server as well. Epic IT was happy to assist.
Epic IT recommended their partner to migrate email to Office 365 and provision a small cloud server
Epic IT immediately recommended their partner migrate their email data to Microsoft Office 365 and provision a small remote desktop cloud server to host their application data, accounting package and line of business applications via cloud. Epic IT commenced the email migration over a period of a week all while their current system was in use by staff. Users were not disrupted while data was migrated to cloud. Once data was ready, it was a simple cut over of services with staff switching to cloud email and remote desktop cloud services within hours of cut over.
Cloud system continues to deliver
The not for profit organisation’s cloud server continued to deliver flexibility and productivity to its users while email services are powered by the ultra-reliable Microsoft Office 365 platform. As a not-for-profit, the organisation is leveraging Microsoft sponsorship benefits allowing licenses to be consolidated and running costs significantly reduced.
